Solar Pumping System Introduction

A solar-powered pump is a pump running on electricity generated by photovoltaic panels. The operation of solar pumps is more economical mainly due to the lower operation and maintenance costs and has less environmental impact than pumps powered by a diesel generator. Solar pumps are useful where grid electricity is unavailable and alternative sources (in particular wind) do not provide sufficient energy.

The pump driven by a 3 phase induction motor / DC brushless motor / permanent magnet motor draws water from deep-well or river. The water output can be fed into reservoir or water tank, or connected to irrigation system directly. Various types of pump can be utilized according to project requirement and installation environment.

The solar pumping system is perfectly suitable for remote areas with no access to electricity.

Using solar technology to supply the electricity saves a lot of investment comparing to

setting up long distance grid network, also reduces the operation and maintenance costs comparing to using diesel generator in over 3 years. Stable water supply can promote agriculture and forestry output and improve environment and living standards, which helps to build a harmonious society.
